Joanthan Kehoe Ian Jensen Lindsay Frame Kate Rodger JONATHAN KEHOE [back]
As a member of Meta since 2003 Jonathan was privileged to play the role of Billy in the Company's second main stage production - Angus MacLachlan's The Dead Eye Boy. His performance was hailed by critics throughout LA including Daily Variety calling him "an astonishing actor." This experience cemented Jonathan's home in the company as well as his joy in working creatively with Anthony and the Meta philosophies. Jonathan has a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Theatre and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in English both from the University of Miami at Coral Gables. He is also a graduate of the Writer's Bootcamp Professional Writers Program in Santa Monica. He has been directing theatre in some capacity since 1992 and was named Best New Actor and Best New Director at the Miami Theatre Festival in 1993 and 1994 respectively. Jonathan has been a member of the Main Company at the ACME Comedy Theatre since 1998 and in 2001 was called a "brilliant comedic conductor" by the LA Weekly. He has studied many different styles of acting with many different types of teachers throughout the country but has truly found his kindred spirits in the souls who inhabit the Meta Theatre Company. From founder to teacher to student he is constantly inspired by the people who surround him and he is both honored and humbled to be able to share his passions with others.
Ian has been a member of the Actor's Lab for nearly three years. Feeling so inspired by his fellow actors and mentor, Anthony Meindl, he began teaching acting at the studio in the summer of 2002. He was also the Sound Designer for the MetaTheatre Company's inaugural production
Lindsay has been a member of Anthony Meindl's Actors Lab for two years. She assisted with Meta Theater's premiere production of DOGS BARKING as a dialect coach and is honored and pretty darn excited to be a part of Meta's West Coast premiere of THE DEAD EYE BOY. Lindsay was last seen on stage at the Knightsbridge Theater in Pasadena as George Hyde-Lees in SAILING TO BYZANTIUM and has performed at the La Jolla Playhouse, The Arkansas Rep and with American Drama Group Europe. Her recent TV debut was as Annabeth on Days of Our Lives. She received her MFA in Acting from UC San Diego.
As an actor, Kate had her formal training at the acclaimed SMU Meadows School of the Arts BFA program. Before moving to LA, she began her acting career in Texas, working both on stage and film. Favorite stage roles include Ophelia from Hamlet at the University of Dallas, Rita from Educating Rita at Mutiny at the Improv in Los Angeles, Blue in Beirut at the Fairfax Irish Theatre Arts Center and Carmen in The Balcony at City Garage Theatre in Santa Monica. She studied with Harry Mastrogeorge for 3 years after moving to LA, and is so grateful to find a home with the Actor?s Lab and Meta Theatre Company, and is honored and inspired to be training with Anthony Meindl., whose evocative approach to acting and story-telling stimulates the soul. Kate has starred in many independent films including the award-winning films New! Improved! Modern American Fairy Tale and The Dancing Cow; she has worked on the soaps General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, and Passions-on which she has a recurring role. She has guest-starred and co-starred on several eposodics including Gilmore Girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mad TV, Total Security, The Fugitive, The District and The OC-on which she currently plays Meredith Ward. She has also done a handful of national commercials including Kmart, Jeep, Burger King, Trex and others. Kate has a deep reverence for her practice as an Energy Healer which stimulates transformation and revelation in those she works with on a very profound level. In addition to her private practice, she regularly leads retreats, groups and Energy Circles. She has studied intensely with leading shamans and healers from all over the world, including Brother Ishmeal Tetteh from Ghana, Africa (creator of the investigative modality Soul Processing), Leonard Orr (modern founder of Rebirthing and Breathwork), Master Stephen Co (Pranic Healing), Reverend Doctor Michael Beckwith, Rev. Coco Stewart, and Rev. Dr. Sage Bennett at the Agape International Spiritual Center of Truth, Sequoia in Sedona, Arizona (plant intuitive), and others. She is incredibly inspired by and draws upon the Native American tradition of Animal and Plant medicine, ancient Egyptian practices, Eastern philosophy, Sacred Geometry, earth and sky medicine, and mineral and crystal therapy. Her practice is constantly expanding, having just added the tools of sonic sound vibration with the use of Crystal Singing Bowls. She is honored to be offering the Circle-work on a regular basis to the Meta Theatre company members.

As an actor, Mr. Meindl Mr. Meindl has done over a dozen national commercials Mr. Meindl is the founding member and artistic director In Meta's first-ever season of producing plays -- 2003/2004 -- Mr. Meindl directed the critically-acclaimed and commercially successful productions of Dogs Barking, The Dead Eye Boy, and Swimming in the Shallows. All shows were recognized for their artistic excellence. Mr. Meindl received an LAWeekly Award Nomination for Best Direction for Dogs Barking and Best Comedic Direction for Swimming in the Shallows. The casts of both shows were also nominated as Best Dramatic Ensemble and Best Comedic Ensemble respectively. His production of The Dead Eye Boy was listed as one of the "Top 10 Productions in Los Angeles Theatre in 2003" by ReviewPlays.com and it's star, Lindsay Frame, was listed as one of the "Top 10 Female Performances." Swimming in the Shallows was also listed on LA Times theatre critc, Rob Kendt's "Most Memorable/Noteworthy LA Productions of 2004." Mr. Meindl also directed comedian, Mercy Malick's, critically-acclaimed one-woman show, Tales from the Catholic Church of Elvis and the LA premiere of Rebecca Gilman's Blue Surge this year. |
